Our Services
We supply a free weekly audio recording on a USB memory stick made up of local news and articles, mostly taken from The Ilford Recorder and Wanstead & Woodford Guardian. We can also loan a special speaker (Boom Box) to play the stick.
You don't have to be a resident in the Redbridge or Waltham Forest area to receive our recordings - several of our listeners are people who have moved out of the areas but like to receive our local news.
If you - or someone you know - would like to receive our free service, please get in touch. Our Contact Us page has details and how to make a donation.
Our visually impaired Listeners must be registered blind or partially sighted as the memory sticks are posted to them and posted back to us under the free Royal Mail “Articles for the Blind” scheme. Other Listeners are considered on a case by case basis as their postal arrangements would differ.
"Articles for the Blind" is a free Royal Mail scheme for blind and visually impaired customers who are registered as blind under the provisions of the National Assistance Act 1948. Also included are people whose standard of close-up vision, with spectacles of N12 or less as certified by an ophthalmologist, doctor or ophthalmic optician.
You can listen to our latest edition which is available to hear on our Recording page.
